The Alta Group Responds to New Lease Accounting Proposals
London – 18 August 2010
The Alta Group, a global advisory firm, has launched a practice focused on helping the equipment finance industry worldwide cope with the proposed radical changes to the lease accounting rules. The EMEA member is Marc Tendler; he is working closely with North America’s Shawn Halladay and Latin America’s Ricardo Muñoz – all three are noted experts on lease accounting. The division is concentrating on accounting compliance and implementation.
Alta’s worldwide capabilities uniquely position it to address the proposals for the financial reporting of lease contracts which were published on 17 August by the International Accounting Standards Board and the US Financial Accounting Standards Board. Alta’s new division is backed by the full team of management advisers who comprise The Alta Group, which has served the global equipment leasing and asset finance industry since 1992.
The proposals will have a profound effect on several important aspects of lessors’ business activities and are being carefully analysed by the Alta team at present. Alta’s new division will create value for its clients by helping them fully understand the new lease accounting proposals, design customer strategies, develop appropriate business processes, maximise revenue recognition and assess and implement needed system changes.
