The Alta Group Supports Private Equity Firm Acquiring a Growing Materials-Handling Equipment Outsourcing Company
RENO, NEVADA, July 17, 2012—The Alta Group, a global consultancy, provided market research and equipment finance industry insight to CI Capital Partners, a New York-based private equity firm to support CI Capital’s acquisition of Total Fleet Solutions (TFS) of Holland, Ohio.
TFS is a provider of outsourced business services focused on the procurement, maintenance and fleet management of forklifts and other materials handling equipment for large blue chip companies.
“Our role was to provide market analysis and insight based on our deep experience and knowledge in the equipment leasing and finance industry,” said Tom Wajnert, a senior managing director with The Alta Group.
CI Capital focuses on building and expanding leading middle market businesses. TFS’ growth potential and proven management team are consistent with the firm’s core strategy, CI Capital announced last week.
TFS is focused on helping customers reduce costs and improve productivity by supporting their procurement, maintenance and fleet management of such materials-handling equipment as forklifts, order pickers, pallet trucks and aerial lifts.
“The company can serve as a platform for consolidation as we look to add additional services and products,” said Tim Hall, managing director at CI Capital. The private equity firm targets industries already primed for consolidation and seeks to grow businesses organically and through acquisitions.
“The outsourced management of forklifts and other materials handling equipment is an untapped market with excellent growth potential,” said Hall in a CI Capital news release issued last week.
According to the 2012 Survey of Equipment Financing conducted by the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association and released this week, financing for materials handing is up significantly (96.4%) year over year and represents the fifth fastest growing market.
