Miguel has more than 30 years’ experience in asset finance, banking and corporate finance. His knowledge and relationships in the Spanish corporate and banking market provide complementary expertise to The Alta Group covering a wide range of products and customers.

Miguel began his career in banking, working for Lloyds Bank and Continental Illinois National Bank, where he was Vice-President responsible for the Trade Finance and Structured Finance operations of the Spanish branch. He was then appointed Director of Corporate Finance in FG Inversiones Bursátiles, a private stock-broking company that was later purchased by Merrill Lynch.

Miguel subsequently joined Banesto, one of the largest Spanish banks, becoming General Manager of LeaseBanesto with responsibility for developing the corporate business sector. As General Manager of Banesto Leasing, the retail business, he oversaw the merging of the two arms, resulting in a company providing global leasing services.

Miguel then spent six years at ING Lease, where he was Chairman and CEO of its Spanish subsidiary. Immediately prior to joining Alta, he was an independent M&A and corporate finance consultant.
