Humberto Olavarría has been working in equipment leasing for more than 15 years and has broad international experience and extensive contacts in the industry. He specializes in equipment finance solution for manufacturers, vendors and financial institutions in Latin America and Asia-Pacific. Humberto is also a partner of Inspecciones Globales S.A., an asset management company that provides services for financial institutions in Central America.

Prior to joining Alta, Humberto was the regional head of asset based finance and leasing for Citigroup’s Asia-Pacific region. He was responsible for equipment finance, asset based finance, account receivables and account payables financing. During his tenure at Citigroup, he held similar positions for Latin America, the Caribbean and Central America.

Humberto was president of Facto-Rent Leasing in Central America, helping it become the largest leasing company in the region. He gained valuable experience in corporate, strategic and financial planning at Ryder System, Inc. in Miami.

Humberto has taken his place among the leaders of the international leasing community. The founder and first chairman of the Guatemalan Leasing Association, he also served as Felalease vice-chairman between 1996 and 1999 (Latin American Leasing Association). He was also a board member of the Guatemalan Chamber of Commerce and of the Guatemalan Stock Exchange and has been a frequent speaker at the World Leasing Conventions and Felalease Conventions in the past few years.
