Ricardo has worked for the equipment leasing and finance industry for more than 29 years. Trained by the legendary Walter E. Heller, he started managing a leasing joint venture in Colombia. Later he led a team that executed one of the most successful turn-around processes to Leasing Grancolombiana (today Leasing Bancolombia). Eight years later he would be hired by Banco Union Colombiano as CEO and minority shareholder of a new leasing company. During all these years Ricardo adapted to the market, introducing new services for real estate leasing and syndicated lease operations. He also was a driving force behind the creation of FEDELEASING (Colombian Leasing Association) and was seated for many years on its board of directors, later serving as chairman.

After 17 years working hands-on in all areas of the leasing industry, Ricardo was appointed as Country Manager for AT&T Capital Corporation, to start operations in the Andean Countries (Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia). Headquartered in Colombia, he gained first hand expertise in managing the benefits and complexities of Vendor Programs.

It is very rewarding to give your views and ideas as advice to a customer, using your knowledge and experiences to solve a troubled area of a company and later seeing it become a successful operation.

All this experience has been passed on to The Alta Group customers in the region during the past eight years. Ricardo has served as a key consultant in projects related to strategic planning, market entry analysis, establishing vendor programs, and reviewing the leasing regulation and market in different countries. He also has taught these topics in leasing training seminars.

Ricardo holds a BS degree in Economics from La Salle University and a MBA degree from the same university. He completed an Advanced Management Program from INALDE (Universidad de la Sabana/ Harvard University) and graduated from the Institute of Lease Management at the Columbia University, Graduate School of Business in New York.
