Over two days in June, members of the 2017 Leaseurope Future Group gathered in Brussels to present their innovative ideas for addressing some of the key challenges facing the industry today. Comprising fifteen talented young leasing professionals, the 2017 Future Group represents a broad range of leasing expertise, from marketing to risk functions, vendor to automotive finance, drawn from all over Europe.
Nominated by their respective CEOs, the Future Group members first came together in April in Brussels where they were briefed by Chris Boobyer and Richard Ryan of Invigors, and presented with a number of industry challenges on which they were to develop an innovative solution to be presented at the June meeting.
Out of the 15 individual presentations, three were chosen by the group members, through a peer-voting process, and will be presented at the Leaseurope Convention to be held in Malta, this October. Representing real-life challenges facing the industry identified by CEOs in the March Business Council, these include creating a strategy to make the industry more attractive to SMEs and investors based on social media, how the industry can harness new technologies such as AI and machine learning to reduce costs without compromising customer service, and creating a programme to recruit and retain talented millennials in the workplace.
After selecting the three best presentations, members of the Future Group formed into teams to further develop these presentations over the summer. The teams are being led by the three winning presenters, Elodie Antoine of BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions, Jean Sebastian Leite of DLL and Lisa Stern of Porsche Bank. Chris and Richard will be providing coaching support and will review the teams’ efforts at a final meeting of the Group in September, prior to the Leaseurope Convention.
Established by Leaseurope, in partnership with Invigors EMEA, in 2013, the Future Group provides a unique and creative programme to provide young industry talent with a truly European platform and environment in which they can develop innovative ideas to the benefit of the entire leasing industry. The last four years have been a huge success and many of the previous participants either implemented their innovations in their respective leasing organisations or were promoted shortly after taking part in the programme.
Invigors is extremely proud of the past Future Group classes and is pleased at the positive reaction we have received from across the European industry. The 2017 group promises to be equally successful and we are looking forward to seeing some excellent ideas presented at the Convention in Malta!
