Kelly Gates is a director of The Alta Group, advising clients on strategy and competitive analysis. She is a performance-driven strategy executive with a track record of achievement and strategic leadership in overcoming diverse equipment finance business challenges. She has been recognized for her ability to deliver exceptional results in a cross-functional, global, multiple business unit environment. She is known as a dynamic and proactive leader who is adept at building the strategic vision and business case and operationalizing that vision.
Prior to joining The Alta Group, Kelly was Global Strategic Marketing/Management Consultant at DLL Group. Her role was to help define, prioritize, implement, and manage multiple business unit strategies and plans, making sure they support corporate growth goals. Working with management and cross-functional teams, she provided direction and leadership, managing complex projects across a global, highly matrixed organization. She took lead roles in supporting the development of her business units’ 3- to 5-year strategic growth plans to reach growth goals of more than 20%.
While with DLL, Kelly managed a process re-engineering project to reduce the volume of reports produced by multiple functional areas for CCO, which reduced the number of monthly reports from 20+ to 5, resulting in increased monthly workflow of 75%. She engaged with senior leaders to design and facilitate 50+ strategy and curated new business development and go-to-market initiatives.
Throughout her career, she has worked directly with and supported executives and critical stakeholders. She has direct management consulting experience, as well as M&A experience in both client-facing and internal capacities through her 18+ years with Gates and Company, a boutique management consulting and investment banking firm. She has played integral roles in the successful completion of client and stakeholder deliverables and managed client relationships. During her tenure with a technology startup, as a director she designed and led corporate strategic initiatives including product development strategy, product development and launch, strategic alliance formation and channel partner selection, which launched the startup to a 5-year growth rate of 1,020%.
Kelly has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Tulsa and an MBA from Widener University. She lives in Wilmington, Delaware, with her husband. She is an avid traveler and loves snow skiing, cooking and reading.
