Alta’s Patricia Voorhees among presenters

Patricia Voorhees

GLENBROOK, NV, June 4, 2019 – Patricia Voorhees, a director of The Alta Group, will discuss how technology innovation is introducing new models in the capital markets on Wednesday morning, June 5, during the Tech Forum added to the 2019 CEMC Fintech Innovation Summit. The forum and summit June 5-7 are in Laguna Beach, CA.

The pre-summit Tech Forum will focus on how the user experience is driving innovation. Other presenters leading Tech Forum breakout sessions include Deborah Reuben of Reuben Creative, who will explore the customer experience and future proofing your business, and Scott Lubischer of FleetEvaluator, who will examine the data driving global markets and its application to asset lifecycles.

Voorhees said her capital markets disruption breakout session will look at how technology innovation is reducing the friction in funding. “For example, Figure is a company using blockchain to disrupt capital in the home equity space,” she noted. “Key stakeholders including equipment finance professionals, technology providers, funders and rating agencies will meet during the breakout session to discuss the questions this raises for our industry, the challenges, and the benefits of capital markets innovation.”

She will also talk about capital markets disruption in oceanside discussions Thursday, June 6 as part of the summit. Other summit presenters from the equipment leasing and finance industry will include Bill Phelan of PayNet, Wayne Super of Cisco and Sohini Roy of Nexseer.

Alta is a founding sponsor of the Commercial Equipment Marketplace Council (CEMC) with Currency Capital. The overall theme of this year’s summit is “Transact ─ Untap the Next Generation of Commerce.”

CEMC events regularly attract innovative thinkers from the equipment finance industry, banking, investment and fintech sectors.

One of the benefits of this conference is that speakers also represent market segments outside of finance and bring fresh entrepreneurial ideas to spark imagination. The agenda is designed to stimulate attendees to imagine where they could go beyond where they are today, according to co-founder and conference leader Charles Anderson, who is also co-founder of Currency Capital.

For example, other speakers on the June summit agenda are from ShoeDazzle, Epsilon and LifeLock as well as artists, musicians, authors and athletes.
