Bruce Kropschot

Senior Managing Director

Bruce Kropschot is senior managing director and the founder of Alta’s Merger & Acquisition Advisory Practice. He brings to sell-side and buy-side M&A clients his invaluable experience of arranging over 200 acquisitions of equipment leasing and specialty finance companies. He has long-term relationships with hundreds of equipment leasing and finance executives and is known for his expertise as well as his integrity in protecting client confidentiality. Industry leaders and executives know that Bruce will always give them unbiased advice and straight-forward answers to their questions

Prior to joining Alta, Bruce ran his own M&A advisory firm, Kropschot Financial Services. For several years Kropschot Financial Services arranged the sale of more equipment leasing and finance companies than any investment banking firm. Previously he was a senior executive of three equipment leasing companies, including one for which he was a major owner and arranged a successful sale. Earlier in his career Bruce was Corporate Controller of a Fortune 200 company and an Audit Manager with Price Waterhouse.

Bruce is a recognized equipment leasing and finance industry expert in mergers and acquisitions. He has written over 50 articles for industry publications on merger and acquisition activity. He also speaks frequently on mergers and acquisitions at industry conventions. Bruce was named Leasing Person of the Year by Leasing News and has served as a board member for the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association and the Equipment Leasing and Finance Foundation.

Bruce holds Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration degrees (with honors and majors in accounting and finance) from the University of Michigan and served for many years on two boards of the University’s Ross School of Business Administration. Bruce is a CPA, receiving an award for having top grades on the nationwide CPA exam.

As avid baseball, hockey, and football fan, Bruce’s favorite sports experience was serving as senior manager of the University of Michigan baseball team when it won the College World Series. Bruce and his wife Barbara enjoy international travel and have visited all 7 continents.
