José Antonio Aguirre, a Managing Director in Peru at The Alta Group Latin America has more than 25 years of experience in the Peruvian commercial banking, leasing and corporate financing sector, with recognized leadership in the local and regional market.

He has wide expertise in asset-based lending, investment projects, structured transactions in corporate finance for companies in mining, retail, logistics, industrial, fishing, agroindustry, energy, oil & gas, etc., asset management, management of credit products (loans, leasing, letter of guarantee, foreign trade financing, etc.) and commercial financing programs (vendors, dealers) as well as innovation and digital transformation projects. He led the modernization of the financial leasing regulatory framework in Peru and digitization of the leasing product.

Prior to joining Alta, Jose Antonio developed his professional career at Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP), leader of the Peruvian financial sector, served for 7 years as President of the Financial Leasing Committee of the Association of Banks of Peru and as member of the Latin American Leasing Federation, FELALEASE.

José Antonio, a regular speaker at national and regional business conferences, contributor to publications like The World Leasing Yearbook, has a professional Accounting degree, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a Training Program for Directors at the PAD of the University of Piura and is studying the I&E Program – Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Stanford University. José Antonio is fluent in Spanish and English.
