Thomas C Wajnert is the chairman emeritus of The Alta Group. He brings over 50 years of leadership experience in the equipment finance and leasing industry to guide The Alta Group and provide senior advice to selected Alta clients.

Tom is one of the most recognized executives in the equipment finance and leasing industry. He was named to the first class of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Hall of Fame. He has served as the Chairman of the Equipment Lease and Finance Association and also as Chairman of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Foundation.

Prior to joining Alta, Tom led his own advisory and private equity firm. He started his career with the progenitor of the modern equipment leasing industry, US Leasing, and went on to found and lead AT&T Capital Corporation as its Chairman and CEO. He led the public listing of AT&T Capital on the New York Stock Exchange and then led its sale in a private equity transaction. Subsequently, Tom went on to lead Epix (a provider of HR services) and founded his own advisory and private equity firm. He has advised several Fortune 50 companies on the formation and management of captive finance companies and has served as a Board member for seven public companies. Most recently he was the longtime Chairman of Reynolds American (NYSE) and now serves on the Boards of Luther Burbank Corporation (NASDAQ) and International Financial Group (private P&C insurance).

Tom has a BS from Illinois Institute of Technology and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.
