Keith Rodwell

CEO

Keith Rodwell, CEO of The Alta Group Asia-Pacific Region, has more than three decades of experience as an executive in global finance companies, with significant expertise in corporate finance, funding, capital management, mergers and acquisitions and risk management and compliance.

Keith joins Alta following a series of executive leadership posts across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. Keith has led businesses through periods of organic growth and transformations, as well as establishing new businesses. Keith has worked with global leaders in the equipment finance industry including GE Capital and CIT Group and has built deep expertise across a wide variety of specialty finance products and distribution strategies including large- and small-ticket equipment finance and leasing, dealer floorplan and vendor finance programs.

In addition, his experience spans the greater Asia-Pacific region. Keith was appointed to run CIT’s vendor finance business in the Asia-Pacific region after CIT’s restructuring in the wake of the global financial crisis. As Asia-Pacific head of CIT Vendor Finance from 2007 to 2010, Keith led the turnaround of the business in Australia and New Zealand, then took on responsibility for the Asia-Pacific region that included the largest foreign-owned finance company in China. The business also employed staff in Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and Japan. Keith led the business through the Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing of parent CIT Corporation and the sale of the Australia and New Zealand business.

At Challenger Life, Keith established a business to fund new and established finance companies through their growth phase, taking the assets under management from zero to more than $750 million and with total investments in excess of $2 billion. In these and many other executive roles he has held, Keith has developed a track record of driving profitable growth with strong risk and compliance performance in demanding and complex markets.

Keith has also been active in the broader equipment finance industry as a director and deputy chair of the Australian Finance Industry Association (AFIA) and chair of the Australian Equipment Lessors Association (which was a precursor to AFIA). The Australian Finance Industry Association awarded Keith its inaugural Lifetime Achievement award for contributions to the Australian Finance Industry.

Keith can advise Alta clients in various competencies, including innovation and strategy development, business modeling, risk management and funding options.
